Co-Promoter & Secretary
Red River Valley Bluegrass clubI was born in Williamstown, PA and grew up in Delaware. That's why Brenda calls me a Yankee. I married Johnnie Lee Feagley in Wilmington, DE. Johnnie was in the Air Force when we met. We lived in Lexington, Mass. and Sunspot, N.MX during that time. When he was discharged, we moved to his home town of Amherst, TX where we farmed and ranched. In 1981, we moved to Ladonia, TX. What a change from the dry sandy south plains to green E. Texas! We farmed and ranched in Ladonia. Johnnie was also a deputy sheriff in Fannin County until his death in 1988.
I have one son, Monroe "Monty" Feagley. Monty is married to Renee Pendergrass. They have two children, Jordan and Jake. Jordan is a very active young lady. She takes dance lessons and enters dance competitions. She plays basketball with the Little Dribblers. She also plays softball. This summer she has spent a lot of time riding her horse. She like to go to club shows with me.
Jake is always on the go. He loves cars and keys. When you see him, he usually always has a matchbox car with him. When he spends the night with me, he likes to go to bed watching a bluegrass video. I'm trying to have them liking bluegrass music as Grandma does.
I stay pretty busy with bluegrass for our club. When it's time to do a newsletter, Brenda and I stay on the phone a lot: also before one of our club shows. Our busiest time is just before our festival, Spring Break in Paris. We want to make sure everything runs smoothly. We want everyone to have a good time. There are several festivals we attend each year. There are local shows close by that I try to attend when I'm home.
I work cross-word puzzles and quilt when I'm in the mood to piece one. Right now my sewing machine is getting a rest. But it may not be too long. When school starts, Jordan may have things she wants me to make for her.
When school starts again, I'll be back at work. My daughter-in-law, Renee, owns the Dance Studio in Paris. On Mondays and Tuesdays, I'm there doing her office work. At recital time and special shows, I'm behind the stage keeping things running as smooth as possible. With dance during the week and bluegrass on the weekends, I am usually busy.
If you are ever at a festival and see a red table cloth that reads Red River Valley Club, come by and say howdy.
